Our degree will allow you to study two interrelated subjects, providing a comprehensive knowledge of the critical areas of economics and accounting. You will be introduced to accounting techniques, such as financial reporting, management accounting, auditing and taxation. Choose to take our Economics and Accounting BSc. You can gain exemptions from specific professional exams through CIMA, ACCA and ACA (offered by the ICAEW), giving you a head-start in a career in accountancy. These exemptions are dependent upon the satisfactory completion of specific modules. An optional year studying abroad or undertaking an industry placement will enhance your skills and build your professional network. Your time with us will equip you with the research techniques vital to postgraduate study.
A/AS-levels: ABB. Two AS-levels are considered in place of one A-level. General Studies or Critical Thinking not included. Own language may be considered.
EPQ with A-levels: BBB + EPQ at grade B.
Access to HE Diploma: Pass relevant Diploma with 45 credits at Level 3, including 30 credits at Distinction.
GCSE: Grade B (5) in Mathematics and Grade C (4) in English Language
International Baccalaureate: Pass Full Diploma with 30 points, including a minimum of grade 5 in SL Mathematics or 6 in SL Maths Studies or 4 in HL Mathematics if not held at GCSE.
BTEC Extended National Diploma: DDD in Business diploma with strong GCSE background, including Mathematics at grade B (5) and English Language at grade C (4).
T Levels: Distinction in Finance (plus 5 GCSEs at grade 5 including Maths and English)
Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.
IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to prove your English ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.
