Course Overview
Our academic staff is active in various genetics research fields, offering an unrivalled mix of academic excellence and cutting-edge practice. In addition to your formal studies, we hold regular research talks with Swansea University staff and guest expert speakers from other universities, industries, the NHS, and research institutions. You may also have the opportunity to research in industrial or medical laboratories in the UK or abroad. A mix of compulsory and optional modules allows you to tailor your degree to your particular interests, career ambitions, or plans for further study.
General Eligibility
A-levels/Welsh Baccalaureate: AAB-BBB. Chemistry is essential, plus at least one other science (usually Biology)
IB: 32-34 to include Higher Level grades in Chemistry, plus at least one other science (usually Biology)
BTEC: Typically Distinction to Double Distinction plus A Level Grade B in Chemistry
As well as one of the above qualification types, all applicants are required to:
GCSE: English and Maths minimum Grade C Wales or Grade 4
Part Time Work Details
Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.
