Course Overview

Our staff is experts in their area of mathematics, with the majority being recognized by the Higher Education Academy with a Fellowship or Senior Fellowship. You will receive high-quality personalized support through small-group tutorials. All our students have several Student Reps who ensure that every student's voice is heard. The Swansea University Mathematics student society sponsors frequent social and academic events to unite students and staff. Our Mathematics Department is next to the beautiful Swansea Bay beachfront, with numerous social and sports opportunities. Our Peer mentoring scheme helps new students settle into university and make new friends. Our new £32.5M Computational Foundry building at our Bay Campus gives students access to bespoke study and teaching spaces designed by and for mathematicians.

General Eligibility

A level: ABB-BBB to include Maths. Those studying Further Maths will automatically receive the lower offer of BBB.

Welsh Baccalaureate: Requirements are for A levels where you can substitute the same non-subject specific grade for the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Level Core Grade.

BTEC: DDM any subject plus Grade B in Level Mathematics.

Scottish Highers: ABBBC plus Grade B in Mathematics.

Access to Science (Maths): 24 Distinctions and 15 merits with Distinction in all Maths modules.

International Baccalaureate: 32 overall with 5 in Higher Level Mathematics.

Part Time Work Details

Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent English test.
