Course Overview

Our alums work for global brands and leading publications because we champion risk-taking, encourage individuality and teach in-demand professional practice skills.

As a student in this Illustration course, you'll develop a unique visual language by experimenting with new technologies and processes alongside enhancing traditional craft skills. You'll also learn to apply critical and theoretical thinking to your practice, responding to our time's environmental, ethical and moral challenges.

Throughout your degree, you'll gain first-hand professional experience through interactions with clients, art directors, designers, and creatives. So, by the time you graduate, you'll have a standout portfolio that will set you apart from others in the industry.

You will:

  • Be part of a thriving and immersive studio culture that embraces innovation and encourages creative collaborations

  • Create your digital portfolio and marketing campaign using digital platforms to reach global audiences

  • Get your work seen by art directors, editors and designers worldwide by engaging with professional media.

  • Attend guest lectures from alums and industry leaders that have previously included Dave McKean, Owen Davey, Harriett Lee Merrion and Edel Rodriguez

  • Learn vital professional practice skills by working on engaging industry briefs

  • Participate in our industry feedback week, where you will gain personalised feedback on your portfolio from agencies, publishers and design houses

  • Explore illustration as a tool for positive change
