Course Overview

Discover how to create everything from high-end television dramas with full-scale crews to powerful documentaries. You’ll lYou'llo tell stories in an inventive and meaningful way within a specialist facility, working with industry professionals. A focus on narrative, craft and practical making, alongside critical thinking, will help you develop the skills needed to succeed in the fast-moving television industry.

You will:

  • Attend television masterclasses led by industry experts. These have included Emma Butt (Re-Recording Mixer), Joel Collins (Production Designer), Jeanie Finlay (Documentary Director), Sarah Gavron and Toby Haynes (Drama Directors), Tom Morgan (Client Services, Envy) and Laurie Rose BSC (Cinematographer)

  • Have the chance to apply for opportunities such as The Hothouse, a placement with the acquisitions team at NBCUniversal in London, and to work on professional commercial briefs with MAYN, our award-winning in-house creative agency

  • Study in a facility that’s pa that she ENVY Academy for post-production and CILECT, the global association of the world’s world's television and animation schools – on a course accredited by ScreenSkills, the industry-led skills body for the screen industries

We consider all applications on their merit and potential. We invite all applicants to an interview day or audition to allow them to demonstrate this, along with what inspires and motivates them in their field. Applicants can also show their portfolio or perform, depending on the course. We welcome applications from all subject backgrounds, whether you’ve specialised in STEM, the arts or the humanities.

UCAS Tariff points will primarily be from Level 3 qualifications such as but not limited to A-levels, T Levels, a BTEC/UAL Extended Diploma or a Foundation Diploma. 

Part Time Work Details

Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • For applicants whose first language is English, we require you to have or be working towards GCSE English Language Grade 4 (C) or equivalent. 

    If English is not your first language, you must meet the same standard, equivalent to the IELTS Academic 6.0 overall score, with at least 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. We accept a range of in-country equivalencies and approved tests.
