BA (Hons) Sport and Physical Education with Foundation Year

This course is designed for students who are passionate about sport and physical education. The foundation year provides a supportive environment for students to develop their academic skills, before progressing onto the full degree programme. Students will have the opportunity to learn from experienced lecturers and practitioners in the field of sport and physical education, and gain hands-on experience through placements and internships. The course will provide a comprehensive understanding of the theories and practices of sport and physical education, as well as the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in this field.

The BA (Hons) Sport and Physical Education are designed to prepare you for a career delivering sports education to children and young people, either as a PE teacher, sports coach, or working as a teaching assistant. The course will help provide you with the knowledge and experience required for a successful application to teacher training. Throughout the course, you will be given the opportunity to work with local schools and coaching organizations. You will also benefit by having access to the Universitys modern, well-equipped human performance laboratory.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements for the 3-year undergraduate program, or those who do not feel fully prepared for a Level 4 course, will be considered for the 4-year program including a Foundation Year.
