Bachelor of Fashion Management & Communication

... Spain
... UDIT - University of Design, Innovation and Technology

Course Overview

The Bachelor of Fashion Management and Communication was created as a specialised university degree for the fashion sector, combining management, marketing and communication. UDIT describes it as the first university degree of its kind introduced in Spain.

Across four years, students move from basic fashion management, marketing, communication and fashion history to digital communication, market research, consumer psychology, sustainability, corporate communication, fashion events, retail and strategic marketing. The later part of the degree includes professional internships and a final degree project.

A major benefit is the practical connection with fashion companies. UDIT reports more than 2,400 company agreements, and professional internships are included in the degree. Students can take part in fashion events, company projects, workshops and masterclasses.

The degree can lead to roles in fashion marketing, brand management, public relations, fashion media, social media, event production, retail, e-commerce, styling, visual merchandising, trend consulting and fashion buying.

General Eligibility

International applicants for the bachelor's degree generally need:

  • Upper secondary education or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum average of 5/10 or equivalent, subject to the applicable admission rules.
  • A recognised English certificate at B2 level for the English programme.
  • Minimum age of 17.
  • Academic documents and certificates required for international admission.
  • Legalised or apostilled documents where required.
  • Spanish homologation or recognition of foreign secondary qualifications where applicable.

Previous study in fashion is not required. UDIT states that students can start the degree without previous training in fashion marketing, communication or business.

Part Time Work Details

International students in Spain with a study stay permit for higher education can generally work up to 30 hours per week, provided the work is compatible with their studies.

Language Requirement

  • For international admission to UDIT's English-taught bachelor's programmes, the university requires a minimum B2 level of English. UDIT lists several accepted English qualifications.

    English Exam Minimum Requirement
IELTS Academic B2 equivalent; UDIT does not publish a separate IELTS score on its current admission page
TOEFL iBT B2 equivalent; confirm the required score with UDIT
PTE B2 equivalent; confirm the required score with UDIT
Duolingo English Test B2 equivalent; confirm the required score with UDIT
Other accepted certificates Oxford Test of English, Cambridge qualifications, Pearson, TOEIC, Trinity, TELC and other certificates listed by UDIT

Note: UDIT's current official page states the requirement as B2, rather than giving fixed IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo scores. It is safer to use the B2 requirement instead of assigning scores that UDIT has not published. English certificates must normally have been completed within two years before the programme start date.
