The Master of Community Development (MCD) program at Acadia University is designed to prepare students to become innovative and effective leaders in community development. The program focuses on the social, economic, and political factors that shape communities and provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to create positive change. Students will learn about community engagement, partnership building, and project management, as well as how to address issues such as poverty, inequality, and environmental sustainability. The program is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in their communities and want to pursue a career in community development.
Additional Information
The MCD program is offered through the School of Graduate Studies at Acadia University. It is a 12-month, full-time program that consists of 45 credit hours of coursework and a capstone project. Students have the opportunity to specialize in one of three areas: Community Economic Development, Community Health and Wellness, or Environmental Sustainability. The program starts once a year, in September.
