MArt Film and TV Production

... United Kingdom
... Buckinghamshire New University

Course Overview

Our course offers a fully rounded experience in preparation for the industry. You will develop high-level expertise in directing, producing, editing and post-production, production management, and cross-media production. As well as the practical element to the course, you will also gain the theoretical, language, and analytical skills which are just as important as the technical aspect of production. For example, understanding audiences, analyzing film structure and why a film is successful is an essential skill in many roles such as directing, writing and producing, and editing. The course also strongly emphasizes teamwork, group dynamics, and professionalism. Those who succeed in the industry are usually the ones who can work together well in a team and adapt to changing group dynamics. Etiquette and knowing how to act on a film set or in a crew for example are highly desirable traits. As well as working with other students on the course, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with students from other disciplines such as audio, music, and performance during your productions.
