This integrated master's degree in Language and/or English provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the structure, functions, and uses of language, as well as the skills to analyze and evaluate literary texts. Students will learn about the various aspects of language, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis. They will also develop their critical thinking and writing skills through a range of modules that cover topics such as creative writing, literary theory, and language teaching methodologies. The foundation year provides an opportunity for students to explore different subjects and gain confidence in their academic abilities before moving on to the main degree.

Students have the option to specialize in either Language or English, or to combine both areas of study.
