Becoming an Assistant Practitioner means you have skills and experience in a particular area of clinical practice. Although you will not be a registered practitioner, you will have advanced skills and opportunities to continue your training. Students on this course have a varied degree of experience yet share the ambition to provide high-quality care. As an Assistant Practitioner, you can choose from a wide range of pathways, relevant to your area of work.
You will also need to be employed as an Assistant Practitioner (or equivalent, for example, healthcare support worker) for a minimum of 18 hours per week and to have the support of your employer. (If you join as an apprentice student you will need to be working a minimum of 30 hours a week and be sponsored by your employer).
