Course Overview

• Gain a more comprehensive view of the world of crime, including terrorism, global human trafficking, and organized crime

• Understand the impact of crime on society and the complexities of criminal and deviant behavior

• Learn from research-active social scientists in fields including society and social formation, social anthropology, criminology, cultural diversity, and social welfare 

• Choose from either a 30-week ‘sandwich’ placement or a shorter four-week placement to provide you with the necessary work experience.

• Develop your research based on a topic that interests you or aligns with your future career or study plans in your final year dissertation.

• This course is ranked in the top 20 in its subject area according to the 2022 Guardian League Tables. At the same time, 93% of graduates felt that staff explained things well.  

General Eligibility

This course requires 104–120 UCAS tariff points, including a minimum of 2 A-levels or equivalent. We are happy to consider a combination of qualifications and grades to meet the overall tariff, for example, A-levels A*CC, ABC, BBB or BCC, BTECs DDM, or DMM.

• IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in reading or writing and 5.5 in all other components or equivalent.
