The Physics programme develops skills in understanding physical laws and applying mathematical methods to real problems. Students learn classical and modern physics alongside experimental techniques used in laboratories.
Coursework includes mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, and computational physics. Laboratory sessions give experience with measurement tools and data analysis methods.
Graduates continue to advanced studies or work in fields such as engineering, energy systems, materials research, education, and scientific computing. The programme connects teaching with research activity at the University of Helsinki, giving students exposure to current scientific work and methods used in physics research.
