Course Overview

Accounting demands a range of transferable skills, including quantitative, analytical, and decision-making skills, and perceptive abilities. You will develop a good understanding of accounting and the environment in which it operates and the ability to apply a wide range of accounting skills and competencies, from preparing financial statements to interpreting complex material and relating theory to practice. The BSc Accounting has been designed to allow you to focus predominantly on accounting modules while learning the supervisory and management skills that will give you the confidence to take on more challenges in the workplace. In your third year, option modules allow you to tailor the course to your interests, such as marketing, organizational behavior, or international finance. The course is taught entirely by evening study, enabling you to combine your academic studies with daytime commitments and gain invaluable practical experience during the day.

Graduates can pursue career paths in accountancy, finance, and management. Possible professions include:

actuary

tax adviser

retail banker.

General Eligibility

112-128 points, A-levels: BBC-ABB, applicants will normally be expected to have grade C or grade 4 in GCSE-level English and mathematics. C or grade 4 GCSE-level English and mathematics

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests.
