BSc Nursing (Mental Health)

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become mental health nurses. Students will learn about the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to mental illness, as well as how to assess, diagnose, and treat a range of mental health conditions. The course will cover topics such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and psychoanalysis, as well as the use of medication in mental health treatment. Students will also learn about the legal and ethical frameworks that govern mental health practice. Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to enter the workforce as competent and compassionate mental health nurses.

Additional Information

This course is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and leads to eligibility to register as a mental health nurse. Students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including simulation laboratories and clinical placements in a variety of settings.
