From the start of the degree, students are encouraged to think about careers, work and skills. The second year offers further opportunities to gain compulsory work experience. The work experience module in year 2 (level 5) seeks to offer you real-world experience. The work placement officers can assist in finding a suitable placement.
Alongside the degree and the practical skills students will obtain, the Cardiff Met EDGE also supports students to thrive in the modern world. Throughout the degree, students will experience a range of opportunities to develop their ethical, digital, global and entrepreneurial competencies through problem-based learning, real-world industry case studies, and opportunities for work-based learning placements off campus. The Cardiff Met EDGE will ensure that students get a range of opportunities to develop transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership.
It is expected that many graduates from this course will go on to obtain management positions across the public, private and third/voluntary sectors. The course also enables students to apply for leadership development programmes with companies such as Network Rail, Deloitte and Dunelm etc.
There are opportunities for students to continue their study at the postgraduate level at courses with Cardiff School of Management, such as the MSc Human Resource Management, MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, MSc International Supply Chain and Logistics Management and the MBA.
