It aims to provide an industry-relevant specialised education that will refine and nurture your skills, knowledge and expertise in your chosen dance genre(s) to a professional level. It will also support you in developing and refining your transferable and employability skills to ensure career longevity. As a graduate of this MA, you'll possess extensive skills in your field of dance practice and a unique body of work that demonstrates your abilities and style. The course will enable you to take charge of your personal and professional development and reflect on your progress as you work towards your goals. Normally, you should have at least an upper second class (2.1) honours degree in a subject relevant to the creative discipline(s) you wish to study during this course (for instance, Dance). You'll be required to attend an interview, staged at Shockout Arts. If you don't have the above qualifications but have alternative qualifications or significant experience in a relevant field, we'll be happy to consider your application. In addition to the interview, we may require you to complete a diagnostic assessment. We'll consider applications where appropriate work experience can be demonstrated in lieu of, or in addition to, the published academic qualifications in line with the University’s Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) procedures.
Apprentices will need to be employed by your organization for a minimum of 30 hours per week. Your organization will also need to commit to sponsoring apprentices to complete this qualification.
If English isn’t your first language, you’ll also need IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band (or equivalent). We also accept a range of other English language qualifications
