Course Overview

Quantity surveyors manage the commercial aspects of construction and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Their aim is to minimize costs and enhance value for money, delivering projects to the required quality and on time. Our Quantity Surveying program, which is part of the civil engineering and infrastructure cluster here at Aston, examines the economic and operational issues related to the construction industry. In our course, you'll gain a working knowledge of the techniques, and an understanding of the skills, required by quantity surveyors and commercial managers within the construction industry. With sustainable construction methods and technology at the center of your learning, you'll also learn about cost planning and estimating, scheduling projects, and building engineering and management. General Eligibility

OR; INCLUDING A SCIENCE OR TECHNICAL SUBJECT: BCC: including a science or technical subject - Standard offer CCC: If the student is also presenting either Core Maths or Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) grade B CCC: Contextual/DTUS offer. Science or technical subjects include Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Biology Further Maths, Design Technology, Engineering Science and Electronics, Geography and Geology.

  • IELTS Overall 6.0, Reading, Writing Listening, Speaking 5.5 Financial requirement You’ll need to show you have enough money to support yourself - unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months on the date of your application. How much money you need depends on where you will be studying. You’ll need either: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses inside London If you’re applying for the Doctorate Extension Scheme, and you’ve been in the UK for less than 12 months, you need to prove you have a total of £2,668 for courses in London, or a total of £2,046 for courses outside London. If you’re boarding at a residential independent school, you’ll need to pay boarding fees instead. The amount you need to pay will be on your CAS. London means the City of London and the 32 London boroughs.
