Course Overview

You will develop skills in critical analysis of contemporary European integration in both English and French language and further your practical skills in European issues through undertaking an EU-focused internship during your second year. You will spend the first year at Aston University in Birmingham in the UK, and the second year at Sciences Po Lille, France, benefitting from a multicultural teaching environment and the combined expertise and experience of the teaching staff at two prestigious institutions. As a student on the Double MA in Europe and the World, you will be able to tailor-make the course to suit your interests and future career goals. The core modules focus on providing you with a broad understanding of the important developments within the European polity. Youll analyzes the evolution of the EU, the role of European institutions, recent trends in European politics, economics, and society, and the impact of European integration at both national and supranational levels.

General Eligibility

2:1 degree in Social Science, Language or a related subject. Other degrees might be suitable depending on personal statement and motivation. Working knowledge of the French language (CEFR B2).

  • IELTS Overall 6.0, Reading, Writing Listening, Speaking 5.5. Financial requirement You’ll need to show you have enough money to support yourself - unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months on the date of your application. How much money you need depends on where you will be studying. You’ll need either: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses inside London If you’re applying for the Doctorate Extension Scheme, and you’ve been in the UK for less than 12 months, you need to prove you have a total of £2,668 for courses in London, or a total of £2,046 for courses outside London. If you’re boarding at a residential independent school, you’ll need to pay boarding fees instead. The amount you need to pay will be on your CAS. London means the City of London and the 32 London boroughs.
