Course Overview

Chemists and chemical engineers are helping to solve some of the most complex problems facing our planet today as well as developing a vast range of products that we use in our everyday lives. During our course, youll learn about the safe, sustainable, and profitable production of all kinds of chemicals and materials so you are able to play your part. During your time at Aston, youll expand your fundamental chemical knowledge, refine your professional, scientific, and technical skills and develop your personal, communication, and management skills. On graduation, youll be equipped for a successful career in chemistry, the chemical industries, or a vast range of alternative scientific, business, and professional occupations such as teaching. We cater to the needs of €˜pure chemists whilst providing the opportunity to explore the industrial, pharmaceutical, technological, and commercial dimensions of chemistry. Business and other specialist topics are built into our courses enabling you to develop valuable management skills.€¯You share your first year with chemical engineers, to gain a deeper insight into industrial processes.

General Eligibility

BBC including Chemistry at Grade B BCC including Chemistry at Grade B (with an EPQ or Core Maths at Grade B) BCC including Chemistry at Grade B (contextual offers and for DTUS applicants) IB- 29 points overall and above with 5, 5, 4 at Higher Level including Higher Level Chemistry at Grade 5.

  • IELTS: An overall minimum score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 for each individual IELTS skill. Financial requirement You’ll need to show you have enough money to support yourself - unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months on the date of your application. How much money you need depends on where you will be studying. You’ll need either: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses inside London If you’re applying for the Doctorate Extension Scheme, and you’ve been in the UK for less than 12 months, you need to prove you have a total of £2,668 for courses in London, or a total of £2,046 for courses outside London. If you’re boarding at a residential independent school, you’ll need to pay boarding fees instead. The amount you need to pay will be on your CAS. London means the City of London and the 32 London boroughs.
