Course Overview

As a leader, youll be challenged with meeting your organizations objectives by deploying key resources such as time, people, and money efficiently and effectively. And, as businesses and people become ever-more connected, if you can speak the international language of maths and have specific knowledge about the business world, youll be in a great position to shape the world of tomorrow. Our Business and Mathematics course, delivered jointly by Aston Business School and the School of Engineering and Applied Science, is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and experience youll need to embark on your career. The program combines economics, finance, and business-oriented modules with applied maths modules, preparing you for a high-level career in the private or public sectors. Our joint honors program enables you to choose a combination of maths and economics modules in your second and final years and will ensure your learning experience is exciting and relevant for tomorrows challenges. Youll also have the opportunity to develop key employability skills including communication, presentation, and report writing. On this course, you spend your third year in a paid professional placement of direct relevance to your studies. This placement will give you invaluable practical experience in a real work environment and further enhance your career prospects. Both Schools have strong links with major employers ranging from the biggest communication companies to the pharmaceutical industry.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS: An overall minimum score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 for each individual IELTS skill. Financial requirement You’ll need to show you have enough money to support yourself - unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months on the date of your application. How much money you need depends on where you will be studying. You’ll need either: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses inside London If you’re applying for the Doctorate Extension Scheme, and you’ve been in the UK for less than 12 months, you need to prove you have a total of £2,668 for courses in London, or a total of £2,046 for courses outside London. If you’re boarding at a residential independent school, you’ll need to pay boarding fees instead. The amount you need to pay will be on your CAS. London means the City of London and the 32 London boroughs.
