The MSc in Historical Studies is a postgraduate programme that introduces students to advanced historical study while deepening their historical understanding and awareness. You will have the opportunity to choose from a wide choice of specialised classes taught by experts in the field while undergoing rigorous training in historical research methods and sources. You will also have the opportunity to carry out an extended piece of original historical research and writing in the form of a dissertation.

global histories of Imperialism and Colonisation
the origins and Development of Arab nationalist movements and Their contribution to the Creation of Nation-states in the Middle East
the changing nature of conflict management and resolution in the Arab-Israeli dispute
the changing relationship of human beings with natural environments
the diplomatic relations between Britain, France, and the United States
the relationship between Scotland and Ulster
national experiences of resistance during the Second World War

First or upper second-class Honours degree in History or overseas equivalent.
