Course Overview

Undergraduate DSE students complete a Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.E.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree* in Exceptional Student Education, which is designed to prepare students to teach individuals with learning and behavioural disabilities. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to apply for a Florida teaching certificate in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) with an Endorsement in Teaching English as a Second language (TESOL).

General Eligibility

In addition, each applicant must have:

Attained a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale on lower division undergraduate coursework for a total of 60 credits;

Earned an AA degree or completed the General Education Core Requirements;

Fulfilled the Foreign Language Requirement; and

Satisfied Gordon Rule (GR)/Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Requirements.
