Course Overview

This flagship course is for exceptional individuals. We’ve designed it to let you reach your true potential. This MComp Computer Science degree will provide you with the skills to join a varying range of advanced technological careers, industrial research and development, or further academic study. The individualised pathway (through the use of options) allows you to begin specialising in any theme within Computer Science. Our aim is simple – we want to help you become a computing professional with the ability to keep up to date with the rapid pace of developments in the field.  

During this course you will learn the fundamentals of computer science and advanced programming skills, and benefit from teaching that relates to the research interest of the academic staff. Specialities available during the course include computer graphics, artificial intelligence and agents, and data communications. If these areas appeal to you then this is the Computer Science course for you. 

This Computer Science degree will not only equip you with practical skills, but also a deep understanding of the underpinning theory. Graduates from this course join industry in software development, database administration, network administration or similar positions. After graduation you should be able to obtain a good job in the computing industry in the UK or indeed with any of the international computing firms. This programme is also especially well-suited to individuals who are looking to pursue a career in research, including a higher degree such as a PhD (offered at Bangor).

Part Time Work Details

The 20 hours is total hours. It is not per job. If you hold multiple part-time jobs then the total hours of all the work you are doing added together.

Language Requirement

  • If you do not meet the English Language requirements to enter the International Incorporated Bachelors or the International Incorporated Masters, BUIC offers you a range of Pre-sessional English Programmes which you can take before you start these courses.

    If you have an IELTS of 5.0 (with no component below 4.5), you will be offered a 6-week Pre-sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the IYZ.

    If you have an IELTS of 4.5 (with no component below 4.0), you will be offered a 12-week Pre-Sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the IYZ.
