Our BA (Hons) English degree with a foundation year is designed for students who want to study English but don't quite meet the entry requirements for our standard three-year programme. The foundation year provides an opportunity to develop your academic skills and knowledge, before progressing onto the full degree. You'll learn about a range of topics, including literature, language, and culture, and have the opportunity to specialise in areas such as creative writing or English language teaching. Our teaching is informed by the latest research and practices in the field, and you'll be taught by experienced academics who are passionate about their subject. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, you'll progress onto the full degree programme, where you'll continue to develop your knowledge and skills in English.
Additional Information
The foundation year is designed to provide students with additional support and guidance as they transition into higher education. You'll have access to dedicated staff and resources, including academic mentors and study skills workshops. The course is delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars, and workshops, and you'll be expected to engage in independent study and research.
