Course Overview
The Space and Service Design program builds upon ten years of industry partnerships and research developments. Created to expand conventional spatial discipline boundaries, the framework merges environmental design with service design principles. Over 35 real-life projects have linked academic cohorts with public institutions, municipal departments, and private partners. Graduates transition into roles focused on public space optimization, user experience strategy, circular economy implementations, and civic innovation.

Application Process and Requirements
Applicants require a Bachelor or Master degree in fields such as interior design, architecture, product design, service design, social design, or visual communication. Candidates submit a portfolio of work, a curriculum vitae, and a motivation statement detailing relevant design experience. Selected applicants participate in an intake interview with the academic panel prior to official enrollment.
Scholarships
Thomas More University of Applied Sciences does not offer full tuition waivers for postgraduate certificates. Regional incentives, training vouchers, and KMO-portefeuille subsidies apply to eligible Belgian residents and employed professionals. External funding options include regional Flemish grant programs and international student mobility bursaries depending on country of origin.
Part Time Work Details
Non-EU students with a valid Belgian student residence permit may work up to 20 hours per week during term time with a formal work permit. Belgian and EU students face no strict hourly limits under standard student work regulations.
