Course Overview

You will contribute significant research to your chosen discipline, often presenting your work at national and international conferences. In addition, you can conduct laboratory and in silico-based projects within the College of Life Sciences or more clinically focused projects in collaboration with colleagues at University Hospitals Leicester. 

Some recent research topics include:

  • Modelling of scaphoid fractures working in collaboration with the School of Engineering

  • Exploring how cultural and religious factors influence patients undergoing chronic treatment

  • Piplloedema and nystagmus

  • Breast cancer and post-radiotherapy chronic breast symptoms

  • Cardiac imaging and power models in aortic stenosis

  • Fluid assessment during labor

  • Impacts of adult autism diagnosis

  • Machine learning and prediction of sudden cardiac death

General Eligibility

Applications are welcomed for the MSc Medical Research from students who have successfully completed at least three years of a UK undergraduate medical degree at the time of starting the program.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
