Course Overview

This award is a 12-credit qualification that offers an introduction to teaching in the education and training sector (to teach 14-19 and 19 plus). This introductory, knowledge-based teaching qualification (which has the same level of demand as that of study for A-levels) has no teaching practice requirement and can be undertaken by individuals who are not currently in a teaching role.

This qualification is suitable for individuals who:

• Are not in a teaching role, or who have just started a teaching role

• Want a short introductory qualification

• Want a capability without a minimum teaching practice requirement

• Have responsibility for delivery within their organization

General Eligibility

It would be desirable for you to possess a Level 2 literacy qualification, a Level 3 qualification in your subject area, and a significant amount of relevant work experience.
