Course Overview

The degree has been developed drawing on the latest policy, research, and practice in education, to offer a course that will equip students with skills in critical evaluation and practitioner research to be effective teachers and to make informed contributions to the development of policy and practice in schools and educational settings.

The course will enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding, developing skills that will support career progression in education settings. Past participants have gone on to take on management roles or move to teach in the Higher Education sector on completion of the MA.

Careers and Employability - Student Services aims to deliver a service that is inclusive, impartial, welcoming, informed, and tailored to your personal goals and aspirations, to enable you to develop as an individual and contribute to the business and community in which you will live and work.

We are here to help you plan your future, make the most of your time at University, and to enhance your employability. We provide access to part-time jobs, and extra-curricular employability-enhancing workshops and offer practical one-to-one help with career planning, including help with CVs, applications, and mock interviews. We also deliver group sessions on career planning within each course and we have a wide range of extensive information covering graduate jobs and postgraduate study.

Students and graduates of the University of Chester can use our services free of charge for up to two years after graduating.

General Eligibility

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, 2:2 or higher, and be engaged in teaching and learning in a school or other learning setting/context. Applicants with other degree classes and significant experience may be considered through interview and if they can demonstrate, on application, their ability to work at Level 7

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
