This course will develop your ability to become a more critical and innovative practitioner. Youll gain specialist knowledge in childrens rights and participation, safeguarding, and a broad range of practical, legal, and theoretical approaches. Over the last three decades, there have been major developments in services for children, young people, their families, and carers. This has led to new approaches to working and different expectations about the knowledge, skills, and values needed by people to work effectively across the full range of childrens services. Integrated and multi-agency working, listening to children and young peoples voices, respecting diversity, and facilitating inclusive practice are just some of the skills and values which underpin the development of professional and skilled children and young peoples workforce.
Applicants should hold a 2:1 or above in a relevant subject However, students with a lower class of degree will be considered, subject to interview Non-standard entrants with suitable extensive work experience with children and young people and evidence of recent study will also be considered
