he BA Deaf Studies and Education course offers the ideal combination if you’re interested in working in the fields of educational support and inclusion.
On this course you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of educational theories, policies and practice. At the same time you’ll explore how these apply to real world issues surrounding the educational inclusion of deaf learners.
The course combines modules on Deaf Studies and Education. The Deaf Studies modules explore the history, education, culture, community and language of Deaf people, and you’ll study British Sign Language.
In the Education modules you’ll take an in-depth look at issues involving learning, diversity and inclusion in the education system, vulnerable learners, and aspects of current education policy in England.
