Course Overview

Skills of clear-sighted political analysis are needed more than ever before. We face challenges and crises both at home and abroad. While some might find this uncertainty unnerving, students of politics focus on finding different ways to analyze problems and think about new approaches to improve our world. Our Politics degree situates the big issues of the day in their historical and philosophical contexts. You’ll explore continuity and change in local, national, and global dimensions of politics, and scrutinize political ideas, structures, and approaches that will help you to understand and address our complex, and ever-changing circumstances.

Politics graduates have gone on to enter a variety of roles in sectors such as national or international government, leading non-governmental organizations in London, Brussels, and other European capital states, journalism, law, teaching, and graduate training schemes in the public and private sectors. Five of our graduates have worked as assistants to MPs in Westminster. A high proportion of our students also go on to study at the postgraduate level, some are currently completing funded Ph.D. research.

Combinations: A combination of qualifications totaling 112 UCAS points

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

• IELTS 6.5 or equivalency – with no less than 5.5 in any element.
