Certificate III in Individual Support

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills required to provide individualized support to clients in various settings, including residential aged care, home and community care, and disability services. Students will learn how to assess client needs, develop and implement individualized support plans, and provide support to clients with complex needs. The course covers topics such as dementia care, palliative care, and working with culturally diverse clients. Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to work as certified individuals in various healthcare settings.

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualized plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due to aging, disability, or some other reason.

Work involves using discretion and judgment in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical, and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centered support.

• Be at least 18 years of age and have completed the equivalent of Year 12.

• ● Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs. This will also include an LLN assessment and you must achieve ACSF 4 for reading, writing, numeracy, and oral communication to enter the course.
