BA (Hons) Dance Education

... United Kingdom
... Canterbury Christ Church University-CCCU

Course Overview

If you want to develop as a dance artist, practitioner, teacher, or entrepreneur, and share your creativity and passion for dance with others, then this course is for you.

We are leading in the field of Dance Education and were the first to develop a Dance Education degree with the first Professor of Dance Education in the UK.

We have superb links with a range of industry professionals and places, including Russell Maliphant Dance Company, Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company, Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, The Royal Ballet School, The Marlowe Theatre, and Canterbury Pilates and Movement Studio.

You’ll be supported and challenged by a team who are all pedagogy and practice-led as well as active researchers and academics in dance and dance education.

The BA Dance Education degree is designed to prepare you for entry into the dance profession as a dancer, practitioner, teacher, artist, or entrepreneur. You will develop knowledge, skills, and understanding as a technically underpinned, expressive performer, a creative choreographer and artist, a pedagogically principled teacher and practitioner in school-based and community-based settings, and an entrepreneur who is able to manage a professional, freelance career.
