Course Overview
This program builds solid language foundations in Mandarin over one academic year, helping students develop everyday communication skills and improve reading and writing competence. The curriculum combines language classes with cultural modules that introduce key aspects of Chinese society and heritage. General Eligibility
To apply for this one‑year language program, you must be a healthy, non‑Chinese citizen with a valid passport and necessary application materials (including passport copies and photos). Applicants of any educational background are generally accepted for this non‑degree language training.
NTU offers scholarships for degree programs, and there may be university‑level support or partial fee waivers available for language learners depending on specific scholarship terms. Potential applicants should check with the international student office for up‑to‑date details.
Part Time Work Details
Allowed with valid student visa under Chinese regulations; work must follow Chinese immigration policies (usually limited weekly hours and on‑campus / approved internships)
Language Requirement
This program is taught in Chinese. NTU does not require English test scores such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo for entry to the Chinese language program. Applicants must be international (non‑Chinese nationals) and provide required documents (passport, health certificate, photos, etc.) as part of the application process.
