BSc (Hons) Sport, Physical Education and Health

This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of sport, physical education, and health. Students will learn about the social, cultural, and historical contexts of sports and physical activity, as well as the principles of teaching and coaching. The course also covers the latest research in sport science, including physiology, psychology, and biomechanics. In addition, students will gain practical experience through work placements and internships, preparing them for careers in sports management, coaching, and physical education.

Students who have graduated from Sports, Physical Education and Health have gone on to work in careers both within and beyond the sport and educational context.

Recent graduates from Sports, Physical Education and Health are now working as PE teachers (secondary), primary school teachers, and teaching assistants. Past graduates have also followed careers in further and higher education, sports clubs, sport science, the leisure industry, and local authority/community sports development. Other students have continued on further study at the master’s and doctoral levels or undertaken a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. ​

Minimum three A levels to include grades BB. No specific subjects are required. Welsh Baccalaureate – Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate is considered the third subject.

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.
