Course Overview

In this course youll explore the variety of perspectives on and approaches to education, enabling you to consider how this affects learners and ideas that travel across cultural boundaries. Youll critically analyse how different institutions, societies and cultures define the key concepts of education, what is considered valuable knowledge and how it is learned. Youll have the opportunity to develop an understanding of critical reflection and how to employ independent learning strategies to enable you to evaluate and inform your professional practice. Youll also have the opportunity to develop and deepen your knowledge and understanding of educational research and be able to use these skills in researching an aspect of global and comparative education for your dissertation.
