NETT (Primary) works with schools across North East Essex and South Suffolk. Placement schools cover a wide area including Colchester and the surrounding district as well as the Harwich and Clacton districts. We also work with a small number of schools in the Ipswich area. The majority of the training takes place at the Tendring Education Centre in Clacton. The course aims to prepare trainee teachers to teach across the 3-11 age range in one of two specialist areas. Trainees engage in a reflective and practice-based program of training in two different placement schools in order to demonstrate that they have met the Teachers Standards for the award of QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). The course also aims to engage Trainees in the application of educational theory and current research as part of the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) award.
