On our Education and Deaf Studies Foundation Entry programme, you’ll combine theory and practice to help the educational inclusion of Deaf learners.
Foundation Entry degree courses are ideal if you’ve got the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an honours programme. It’s a great stepping stone to a full degree.
Our course combines Deaf Studies modules with education modules. You’ll cover the history, education, culture, community and language of Deaf people, alongside education modules – the theories of learning, diversity and inclusion, and vulnerable learners in the education system.
You’ll also study British Sign Language. The vibrant Deaf community in the area means that you’ll have ample opportunities to practise your language skills with native language users.
