Course Overview

Learn about the social, cultural, economic and political factors that affect health as well as identify health patterns and trends in the health and wellness of individuals, neighbourhoods and populations.

You will be able to empower individuals, families and societies to make healthy lifestyle changes through effective verbal, written, audio-visual, social media presentation and communication methods.

With the increasing emphasis on health promotion, public health and the social determinants of health, this course has been designed for those who aspire to make a difference to people's health and wellbeing in this fascinating and expanding field.

We'll develop your knowledge and skills to address key public health issues, including health inequalities, health enhancing strategies and community engagement.

The course will improve career prospects for working in a variety of roles in public health and health promotion in a range of organisations including the NHS, local authorities, Public Health England, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), as well as in voluntary and independent sectors.

General Eligibility

Learners must be aged 18 years on or before 31st August of the academic year that the programme commences. A minimum of 48 UCAS points. GCSE English and maths at grade 4 or above, equivalent Level 2 qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills. IELTS 5.5; Reading and writing must be at 5.5 Examples of relevant Level 3 qualifications include: 2 x GCE 'A' Level passes 1 x GCE 'A' Level pass plus AS level passes in appropriate subjects BTEC National Diploma or Extended Diploma BTEC National Certificate A Level 3 Diploma or equivalent such as NVQ, GNVQ in a Health and Social Care (or related subject)

An Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution

Related work experience

An international equivalent of the above.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.
