Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is an internationally recognized teaching certificate. There are CELTA centers worldwide, all running a similar program and all moderated by Cambridge English Language Assessment, which is part of The University of Cambridge. Candidates should normally have, as a minimum entry requirement, a standard of education equivalent to that required for entry into higher education. For non-native speakers of English, applicants should demonstrate a high level of both written and spoken English such as an IELTS score of 6.5 or level C2 on the CEFR.
The School is in close contact with local language schools, who visit on the last day of the course to meet trainees and very often, offer them teaching work straight away. We are also frequently notified of job opportunities abroad and the program director passes these on to alumni. Recently, trainees have found teaching work in Vietnam, France, Spain, and China, to name a few.
