Course Overview

Prepare for a career in speech and language therapy. Learn to understand communication and other disorders, and how to manage these effectively. In this course, you will develop a range of clinical skills and evidence-based knowledge to become an autonomous, competent, and accountable practitioner. You will undertake practice placements in several settings, which may include a hospital ward, outpatient department, mainstream and special schools, day centers, clients homes, courtrooms, prisons, and young offenders institutions. The curriculum will be contemporary, focused on employability, and it will draw on the range of communication disorders across the life span and how these may impact children and adults and the people who care for them.

General Eligibility

GCSE English language and mathematics, at grade C or 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 in numeracy and literacy.
