FdEd Professional Practice in Early Years

If you’re a child-minder, a preschool learning leader, or an early-years practitioner, you’ll benefit from the professional development opportunities that go hand-in-hand with this foundation degree.

It's designed to meet the exact but changing needs of employers and will develop your knowledge and understanding of working with babies and young children.

The course is taught in the evenings, so you can continue working whilst you study.

You'll find yourself developing skills for the early childhood education and care sector, as well as gaining experience in academic background and developing the attributes that employers value.

It will enable you to develop the skills, expertise, and knowledge to apply for a Top-Up qualification including qualification with Graduate Practitioner Status or a range of other professional education routes.

• Appropriate for those returning to study

• You must be working or volunteering in an appropriate setting with children in the age or stage range of 0-8 years.

• The University requires evidence that you have a current satisfactory DBS disclosure.

• We expect applicants to demonstrate an experience of, or interest in, a related subject and an aptitude for academic work which may be determined by an essay and/or interview alongside the application

• Applicants should usually hold GCSE Grade A-C English qualification, or equivalent.

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
