The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is a teaching qualification with a teaching/training practice requirement. It is designed to provide complete and part-time teachers already employed within the sector to become qualified teachers or those wishing to work as teachers/trainers in England. This course is ideal for practitioners who want to develop skills in assessing, preparing materials, and supporting students. It aims to enhance existing knowledge and introduces new practices and theories relating to Further and Higher Education. In addition, it allows gaining a nationally recognized qualification to work towards Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills (QTLS) status within the Post 14-year-old students. The two-year program, accredited by City and Guilds (C&G), is delivered at Loughborough College, which offers access to excellent facilities and resources to support and facilitate the study of the course. With a DET, you can apply for QTLS status, enabling practice within the secondary and further education sectors. Graduates may choose to continue their studies or progress to diverse careers in education.
