Developed in consultation with NHS trusts, BSc (Hons) Health and Wellbeing Practitioner is designed to prepare students to work in public health, health improvement, and person-centered healthcare.
You will have the skills and experience to set up, deliver and evaluate health promotion schemes. You will help people gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to become active participants in their care to reach self-identified health and well-being goals. You'll be taught these things in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and Personalised Care initiative, designed to improve patient choice and self-management.
Initially, you will study modules fundamental to your understanding of health and wellbeing, including physiology, psychology, and sociology. You'll move on to study public health, health coaching, physical activity, social prescribing, healthy nutrition, and health policy. You will also develop an understanding of the theory behind behavior change and health literacy.
