This course is specifically aimed at international students, supporting those wishing to gain practical work-based experiential learning. Together with studying your chosen course, we are offering an additional 6-month placement opportunity, making the course 18 months in length. This allows students with limited experience to put into practice the skills and techniques developed throughout the Masters degree. The UK automotive industry is a vital part of the UK economy worth more than £82 billion turnovers and adding £18.6 billion value to the UK economy. Employing in excess of 168,000 directly in manufacturing and in excess of 823,000 across the wider automotive industry. Automotive engineering is generally at the forefront of development. The concept of a driverless vehicle is now a reality and it is only public confidence and adequate infrastructure that prevents it from being introduced within the public domain. Although an exciting topic, globally it is a highly competitive industry where engineers require a sound understanding of engineering principles.
An Honours degree (2:1 or above) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Systems, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a closely related science subject area or an equivalent professional qualification. You are also encouraged to apply if you have other qualifications and/or experience and can demonstrate that you are equipped with knowledge and skills equivalent to Honours degree level. Knowledge of CAD software is a plus.
