If you already have computing knowledge and want to build on your studies, this course could be for you. This is a one-year top-up course, and we expect you to have completed at least two years of university or higher education study in a related subject. If you're looking to boost your chances of employment or promotion by developing your knowledge and skills in computing, we're here to help. The course allows you to work on your problem-solving techniques and build up some transferable skills you can take into the world of work. Everyone will have reached a different stage of their studies and proficiency, so we allow you to tailor your learning with an optional module system. You can also choose modules that best suit your career choices for the future. You could cover a range of vital topics like developing database management systems, and internet and intranet sites, build on your object-oriented programming skills, or explore the different technologies that can support information technologies (IT) in organizations.
A Foundation Degree or HND at Merit or equivalent in Computing must include substantial programming in an object-oriented programming language like Java or C++.
Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.
