Our combined honours Biology and Forensic Science BSc will provide you with a breadth of knowledge and diverse skills across two exciting scientific subject areas.
Most of society's global challenges are connected to biology - from assessing the effect of medication on the human body to exploring methods to prevent species extinction. Studying biology covers a range of fundamentals, as well as topics including animal biology, physiology and anatomy, ecology and plant biology, and animal behaviour and microbes, viruses and parasites.
The forensic science element of the course focuses on the entire forensic process, from evidence collection, analysis and interpretation to court reporting. Initial modules will build your understanding in the key topics underpinning the subject, including forensic chemistry, forensic biology and criminalistic science. To equip you with the scientific skills needed for your future career, you will have access to our state-of-the-art David Attenborough Laboratories and Central Science Laboratories. You will also gain valuable laboratory and crime scene experience to help you stay ahead in this fast-moving science, including using our dedicated Crime Scene House facilities.
