The course at Shrewsbury has been developed from the success of Events Management at the University of Chester, which regularly scores high levels of student satisfaction and employability prospects within the event and festival industry. The course is integrated through a study of the practices, processes, people, and places that characterize event and festival activity at various levels. The course is underpinned by the active research and extensive experience of the lecturing team.
We arrange field trips every year and invite guest lecturers from the industry to share a wealth of experience. There are also opportunities to work with professional events and festival organizations; whether that be on a volunteer basis, as an intern, on the Work Based Learning placement (as part of your course), or the Sandwich Placement Year (four-year option).
