Course Overview

Our MSc Foundations in Clinical Psychology will prepare you to undertake doctoral training in clinical psychology, or other mental health disciplines, and provides a stepping stone toward a rewarding career. The course includes specialized teaching from qualified clinical psychologists and after successful completion, you will have gained an in-depth knowledge of theory, practice, and research in clinical psychology. A discipline that involves the application of the scientific theory and principles of psychology to help in the understanding and alleviation of psychological distress and dysfunction, and in promoting well-being. This MSc program is provided in collaboration with the Salomons Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, which is part of Canterbury Christ Church University. The MSc is designed for psychology graduates who are considering pursuing training in clinical psychology and includes the provision of specialized teaching from qualified clinical psychologists.

The aim of the program is to provide you with a detailed understanding and knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical psychology, in preparation for potentially undertaking doctoral training in clinical psychology or training in other mental health-related disciplines. It, therefore, serves as a potential stepping stone toward a career in clinical psychology or mental health. We also have a Careers and Enterprise Team. They can help you achieve your future goals with lots of free online resources and support, plus advice on CV writing and job applications, interviews and assessments, skills building, and personal development.

General Eligibility

You will need to have an undergraduate degree of 2.1 or above in Psychology that confers Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
